Dennis Rutherford, CPA, CHFP, CGMA, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Rutherford joined Gilbert Hospital’s leadership team in January 2014 with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  His extensive experience in finance and organizational improvement is a positive addition to the Gilbert Hospital leadership team.  Mr. Rutherford has lived in Chandler, Arizona for more than 12 years with his wife Janice and has three grown sons and two grandchildren.

Kim Casillas, Chief Nursing Officer

  Ms. Casillas joined Gilbert Hospital to lead and develop the Intensive Care Team in 2008 and now serves as the CNO.  She brings more than 25 years of nursing experience that includes bedside care in the ICU, Patient Advocate and Director of Quality.  Through her different roles her passion continues to be the delivery of an excellent patient experience through personal, quality care that she believes a small community hospital has a unique advantage to excel.  Ms. Casillas lives within the community with her husband Thomas and son Liam.

Lou Schroeder, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Schroeder comes to us with more than 23 years of financial and accounting experience, all in the healthcare field. His experience ranges from large healthcare groups to physician practices all in Arizona.  He has been involved with all aspects of Accounting and Finance from the detail of an analyst to having 10 years of CFO experience.  He prides himself on putting together a great team and supporting their success.  Mr. Schroeder lives in the Gilbert Community with his wife Teri and three children, Luke, Madeline,  and Zach.

Timothy Johns, MD, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Johns is the founder of Gilbert Hospital and has worked in emergency care for over 30 years.  He received his medical education from St. Louis University and completed his residency at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital.  Dr. Johns has continued to treat patients on a regular basis while leading his medical team in their constant dedication to making sure the patients always come first.  Dr. Johns is the father of two grown children and has a love of hiking.

Hospital Administration

Scott Cluff, Plant Operation Manager

Mr. Cluff started with the Gilbert Hospital Environmental Service team in 2010.  He has worked with Florence Hospital and Gilbert Hospital in Plant Operations since 2011.  Mr. Cluff became part of the leadership team at Gilbert in 2013.  He has over 20 years experience in the construction industry, varying from structural to aesthetics.  Mr. Cluff has a strong interest in IT and hopes to finish bachelors in computer science and networking engineering.  He also enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with family.

Melinda Lopez, Admitting Manager

Ms. Lopez joined the leadership team in October of 2016 as the Admitting Manager of both Gilbert Hospital and Florence Hospital at Anthem.  Ms. Lopez started working at the facilities in 2012 in the Outpatient Registration Department; her hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed and she was promoted to Lead Registrar and from that to Supervisor.  She brings more than 15 years of clinical healthcare experience to the team and is passionate to help others understand their healthcare benefits.  Ms. Lopez lives locally in the Town of Florence and believes that working and living in the same community brings her a connection to the patients.  She is married with 3 children and 1 granddaughter.

 Deborah Nordyk, Director of Diagnostic Services

Ms. Nordyk joined the Gilbert team in March of 2006.  She has been with the Gilbert team since the doors opened.  Ms. Nordyk brings over 20 years of radiology experience to the hospital and became part of the leadership team at Gilbert in 2013.  Ms. Nordyk is currently finishing her bachelor’s degree in Radiology Sciences with a minor in health care leadership.  Ms. Nordyk has lived in Queen Creek, AZ for the past 13 years with her partner of 15 years.  She has one son and four grandchildren.

 Jennifer Ord, MLS (ASCP), Associate Administrator

Ms. Ord has more than 14 years of clinical laboratory experience in varying positions, including Director, Manager, and Quality Informatics Coordinator.  Ms. Ord started her career in the clinical laboratory while serving our country in the United States Air Force.  In 2004, she was awarded Laboratory Airman of the Year by the Air Force Space Command, along with being named the Airman of the Year by the Medical Group. Jennifer continued her career with Sonora Quest Laboratories/Banner Health, Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Shriners Hospital for Children, and Bay Area Regional Medical Center. Jennifer has received degrees from the Community College of the Air Force, Pikes Peak Community College, and was awarded her Bachelors of Science from Arizona State University.
